This is the epitome of melodrama. Note the term "military equality," which joins "marriage equality" as a progressive mantra. To repeat something I have said many times in this blog, justice requires that likes be treated alike and unlikes differently, in proportion to their differences. The Times has done nothing to show that homosexual couples are relevantly like heterosexual couples with respect to marriage, and therefore has not shown that justice requires equal treatment. There are also relevant differences between heterosexual soldiers and homosexual soldiers. Wouldn't it be nice if the members of the editorial board cogitated instead of emoting?
