Cliff Lee has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. I'm disappointed that he didn't stay with the Texas Rangers, but delighted that he didn't land in New York to play for the Yankees. I'm also happy that we (the Rangers) play Philadelphia only occasionally (in interleague play, and perhaps in the World Series). In the end, Lee chose comfort over money. He and his wife apparently like the City of Brotherly Love. I think he also prefers the small ball of the National League. I wish I could say that we'll see Lee in the 2011 World Series, but I don't think the Rangers will reach the playoffs again for a while. The Los Angeles Angels will be back in the hunt next year, and Oakland has a superb young pitching staff. Does anyone out there miss baseball as much as I do?
