Okay. So people once received health insurance and retirement benefits as part of their employment contracts. This is changing. According to this New York Times story, many workers are taking temporary jobs for which they receive neither insurance nor benefits. This is not an argument for getting the state involved, as progressives will claim. It's an argument for people taking responsibility for their health and retirement. Do you look to the state to pay your automobile or house insurance? Of course not. Why is health insurance any different? As for retirement, I suggest you open a savings account to supplement your Social Security payments. Stop looking to the state to take care of you! Do you have any self-respect?
