Where was the editorial board of the New York Times when George W. Bush was being vilified? Do you remember the equation of Bush and Hitler? Do you remember the images of a decapitated Bush? Do you remember the movie about Bush being assassinated? Do you remember expressions on left-wing blogs such as "Bush and his bestiary of madmen"? Do you remember Bush being called a war criminal? Do you remember Chief Justice John Roberts being called "depraved and repellent"? Do you remember Justice Clarence Thomas being called a "lunatic"? And what about today? Examine the rhetoric directed at Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and David Horowitz (not to mention yours truly). It is disgraceful. Progressives have no basis for condemning conservative rhetoric, for their own rhetoric is beyond the pale.
