Re “Egyptians Defiant as Military Does Little to Quash Protests” (front page, Jan. 30):
Is it any wonder the Middle East is in a state of dangerous chaos?
Consider: unbridled corruption, tyrannical governments, religious extremism and intolerance, one-dimensional economies, ridiculously disproportionate distributions of wealth, radicalized education systems, unreliable and mistrusted police forces, and a terrified middle class.
It’s a formula for revolution, not evolution, and a reason chaos will reign supreme in that region for generations to come.
