Our wind chill is three degrees Fahrenheit. My university closed its campus for the day. Just when I was starting to feel sorry for myself because of the cold weather, I saw the forecast for my parents' town in Michigan:

Tonight…Windy. Snow heavy at times…blowing and drifting snow. accumulations 5 to 9 inches. Lows 12 to 16…with wind chills around zero. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph…except winds as high as 40 mph near saginaw bay…increasing to 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 100 percent.

Wednesday…Windy. Snow heavy at times…blowing and drifting snow. additional accumulations 3 to 5 inches…for a storm total of 8 to 13 inches. Highs 19 to 23. Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph…becoming north 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 100 percent.

I think I'll go out for a run—shirtless.
