Super Bowl XLV The Super Bowl (between Green Bay and Pittsburgh) is being played less than 10 miles from my house in Fort Worth. I can see Cowboys Stadium from the nearby intersection. This morning, while walking Shelbie, I saw an airplane banner over the stadium. I can report that the weather is gorgeous. It's 55.4º and sunny, with a light northwesterly wind. I just ran 6.6 miles, shirtless. The weather has been awful here for the past week (my campus was closed for four of the five days), so it's great to get sunshine and warmth again. By the way, this is the second Super Bowl to come to my neck of the woods. In January 1982, I lived in Pontiac, Michigan, while attending law school at Wayne State University. The Super Bowl that year (between San Francisco and Cincinnati) was played in the Pontiac Silverdome. I remember being glad that it was over. I'll be glad when this year's game is over as well—which is not to say that I won't be watching. I'll probably put the game on and check the score from time to time. If the game is close in the fourth quarter, I'll sit and watch it. I'm not a big fan of professional football.
