I spent the first 26 years of my life in Michigan. It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Recently, someone wrote that there are four seasons in Michigan: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road repair. I laughed when I read it, because it's true.
I now live in Texas. Although it's the first half of February, I rode my bike 47.08 miles this morning in glorious weather. I hadn't been on the bike in several weeks, so it felt good to get the cycling legs working again. I hope to do the usual 25 rallies this year. My average speed today was only 15.71 miles per hour (elapsed time = 2:59:46), in part because I'm out of shape and in part because the wind was vicious. My maximum speed for the ride was 31.2 miles per hour. I burned 2,482 calories. My average heart rate was 112 and my maximum 142.
Addendum: My hour splits were 14.04 miles, 14.84 miles, and 18.27 miles (for 59:46). Guess which sections had the headwind?
