Katherine and I had a romantic evening yesterday (Valentine's Day). First, we ate dinner at Spiral Diner & Bakery, which serves only vegan fare (most of it organic). I consume only three animal products: chicken, fish, and eggs. For one of the few times in my life, I was able to order anything off the menu, with no fear that it contained dairy products or red meat. Afterward, we attended a concert at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. The artist was Boz Scaggs. I had never been in Bass Performance Hall, though Katherine had. The music was wonderful. The view was good; the crowd was appreciative; and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Scaggs, now 66, is a consummate professional. This video gives you an idea of what it was like. Here is the closing number.
Addendum: Unless my memory fails me, this was my first concert since 1981, when I saw Ozzy Osbourne and Def Leppard at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Michigan. Thirty years! I told Katherine that one nice thing about seeing Boz Scaggs rather than Ozzy is that I wouldn't have someone's vomit on my shoes when I got home from the concert. "The concert isn't over yet," she said. Smart aleck.
