Dr. KBJ,
I enjoy football, and I enjoy watching athletes who excel at their craft. Michael Vick is one of those athletes. I'm not a fan of his off-field antics, including dog fighting which he was charged and later served time for. But having accepted and served the just penalty of his actions, I consider him to be in good standing (as far as the law is concerned.)
Vick canceled an interview with Oprah—one that I was looking forward to and the only reason I would watch the show—that was slated to air next week.
The comments on the news story about the cancellation surprised me: they were full of vile toward Vick. "I hate his kind," "He's a pig," "I can't believe Oprah would share a stage with him," "Philadelphia caters to low life trash."
Where are those comments toward those who facilitate abortion? Many of these same 'animal lovers' haven't said a peep over the abortion of innocent fetuses, many of whom are mauled—much like animals in dog fighting—prior to termination.
Oprah has shared plenty a stage, I'm sure, with abortion doctors during her tenure. Where was the outrage then? How come abortion doctors aren't pigs? Or trash?
If Vick wants to participate in mauling innocent creatures, he should go to medical school and procure a job at an abortion clinic. It's legal, and the NFL wouldn't suspend him from playing in any games.
