Katherine and I watched this movie yesterday. I saw roughly the second half a few years ago while channel surfing on television. In my humble opinion, the acting was very good. Acting is good when I don't know it's acting. The plot was simple and engaging; the dialogue was understandable; the setting (Waxahachie, Texas, in 1935) was beautiful; and the characters were well developed. The ending, however, was horrible. It all but ruined the movie for me. Can anyone explain it?
