Regarding Paul Gigot's "The Weekend Interview with Paul Ryan" (Feb. 19): ". . . if you want to be good at this kind of job, you have to be willing to lose it." Did someone in Washington really say that? I know this winter has been cold, but I didn't catch that hell had actually frozen over.
The real test for this country is not how successful Rep. Paul Ryan and his cohorts are at trimming our runaway spending over the next two years. It is whether those who try, get re-elected. Unless we start voting for people because they don't bring home the bacon, we'll soon be headed down Greece's sorry path.

Note from KBJ: Too many metaphors! Hell freezing over; the test for this country; trimming spending; trimming runaway spending; bringing home the bacon; headed down a path; headed down a sorry path.
