Texas Longhorn I got a good workout today—my fifth consecutive weekend of riding. I rode 63.14 miles in 3:57:37, which is an average speed of 15.94 miles per hour. Weather conditions were excellent except for a howling southerly wind. The first 23 miles were slow and difficult, but the final 28 were fast and pleasant. I cruised along at 25 or more miles per hour in various places. Overall, I went about a mile per hour slower than a week ago, but I extended the distance by 10 miles, so I'll take it. The wind is making me stronger. I should be in good shape by the time the first rally rolls around in early April. Today's ride, by the way, was my longest since 20 November. According to my Garmin device, I burned 3,463 calories. Excuse me while I eat!

Addendum: I snapped a few pictures along the way with my BlackBerry. The image in this post is of a Texas longhorn. Click to enlarge.
