I leave you this fine evening with a column by R. Emmett Tyrrell. I can't see either Haley Barbour or Chris Christie being elected president—Barbour because of his Southern drawl (which is much more pronounced than that of Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton) and Christie because of his weight. This is the age of cable television and the Internet. Americans want fit, photogenic, articulate leaders. It may not be just, or even rational, to want these things, but they are wanted.
