Yesterday evening, there being no baseball or basketball games on television, Katherine and I watched Raising Arizona (1987), which I recently found on sale at Best Buy. I had never seen it, though Katherine had. I loved it. I'm not a fan of Nicolas Cage, but he wasn't too obnoxious in the movie. Holly Hunter was good as his wife. Even the baby they stole gave a good performance. The movie was dark in places, especially with the violence, but overall the movie was so silly and lighthearted that it didn't bother me. I'm not ashamed to admit that I laughed uproariously several times. I loved when Holly Hunter's character, Ed (short for "Edwina"), pronounced the word "fiance" FIE-ance. I also loved the dog-chase scene, unrealistic though it was. If you've seen this movie, what's your favorite scene? If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. I'm starting to think that the Coen brothers can't make a bad film.
Addendum: Here is the trailer. Here is a hilarious chase scene.
