Illinois, like any other state, has the right to set its own policies. Each person has the right to decide whether to live there. Citizens of Illinois are deciding against living there, and who can blame them? Socialism has never worked. It goes against human nature. Wouldn't it be nice if all the progressives in the country moved to Illinois? It would be heavenly for them. They would be miserable, to be sure, but at least the misery would be equally distributed, which is all they care about. As for me, I'll stay in Texas, where the word "liberty" still means something.
Addendum: Proving that idiocy never sleeps, the editorial board of the Chicago Sun-Times calls for a new federal tax on online sales. If you want more of something, subsidize it. If you want less, tax it. Why is it so hard to grasp this simple economic fact? Oh, wait; progressives don't think; they emote.
