Deep down, progressives hate this country. They assimilate patriotism to racism and sexism, which are beyond the pale. Those who genuinely love the United States of America are viewed as doltish at best and dangerous at worst. I know: I used to be a progressive. You might wonder why Barack Obama would want to be president if he hates this country. The answer is, for the same reason Ronald Reagan wanted to preside over the federal government even though he depised big government. His goal was to cut government down to size. Obama's goal is to cut the U.S.A. down to size.
