Did you see the Republican debate yesterday? The "winner," in my opinion, was Herman Cain, whom the editorial board of the New York Times dismisses as an aspiring "motivational speaker." How is that not racist, by the board's own standard? Nary a criticism of Barack Obama has been made during the past three years that the board did not characterize as racially motivated. Do only progressives get to criticize black candidates?
In reality, the racists in our society are progressives, not conservatives. Look at how Clarence Thomas was treated. Look at how Condoleezza Rice was treated. Look at how other black Republicans have been treated. It's progressives, not conservatives, who oppose school vouchers, which would give blacks a chance to educate their children in decent schools. It's progressives, not conservatives, who favor affirmative-action programs, which have the effect not only of undermining black self-respect, but of promoting suspicion (by whites) of successful blacks. It's progressives, not conservatives, who support welfare programs, which increase black dependency on others. It's progressives, not conservatives, who support abortion, which decimates the black community.
You get the idea.
