To the Editor:

Seth Fletcher’s fine Op-Ed article, “Electric Avenue” (May 10), suggests that the batteries of the electric cars of the future will still require recharging. I disagree.

My expectation is that fully charged battery blocks will be waiting for the cars at the stations and will be swapped to replace the depleted ones in one minute.

I also expect that the swap will be automatically detected and the cost charged to the credit card of the customer.
