I hope you're doing well. After writing my comment on your post quoting a NYT article on student-loan debt, I was inspired to research and write my latest essay on the economics of student loans and whether they are still economically beneficial.

If you have the time, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts—whether privately or on your blog—since you are someone who has acquired both a J.D. and Ph.D.—do you think those degrees are still economically worthwhile to pursue in light of the skyrocketing cost of higher education? If not, what would that mean as far as the education levels of future generations—and what would be the benefit, positive or negative, of having fewer lawyers and/or philosophers in society?

Also, I look forward to seeing the Red Sox and Rangers battle in the playoffs!
