Texas Rangers This past Tuesday, Katherine and I attended our ninth Texas Rangers game of the season. We entered the game 5-3 and exited 5-4. I knew that I would be both happy and sad after the game, because both of my teams were playing. The Detroit Tigers are chasing the Cleveland Indians in the Central Division and the Rangers are in first place in the West Division. When my teams play each other, I can't root. I just watch, the way a parent would while watching two children compete in a tennis match.

The Tigers scored four runs in the fourth inning and never looked back. The Rangers scored once in the sixth to make it 4-1, but the Tigers added two runs in the seventh and one each in the eighth and ninth. The final score was 8-1. Detroit had 20 hits. It seemed as though everything a Tiger hit fell in, while everything hit by a Ranger was at someone. It was quite hot at game time (97º). We were in the sun only briefly, however, and as the evening wore on, the temperature fell a few degrees. A southerly breeze helped cool us. The Tigers are now 33-27. The Rangers are 34-28. A crowd of 35,165 witnessed the Ranger defeat.
