In the editorial “Glimmers of hope amid president’s health-care callousness,” one thing is completely wrong. Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski did not “join” Sen. John McCain. He joined the two women who had been steadfast in their opposition to the various atrocious “health” bills put forward by the Republican Senate.

Commend the leaders, not the followers.

Today marks my 36th year of cycling. I bought my first bike on 9 August 1981, when I was 24 years old. Today's 36-mile ride gives me 93,877.8 miles, which is an average of 2,607.7 miles per year and 7.13 miles per day. Seven miles a day for 36 years!

Senator Mitch McConnell said I had "excessive expectations," but I don't think so. After 7 years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?
