With his recent ban on transgender people in the military combined with his comments about Latinos and Muslims, President Trump has changed his motto to "Make Discrimination Great Again."
— Patrick Gannon, Lake Oswego
Note from KBJ: This is too cute by half. To discriminate is to distinguish. Some distinctions between (among) persons rest on relevant differences and some do not. Only those that (1) rest on irrelevant differences and (2) work to the disadvantage of certain individuals are invidious, i.e., constitute discrimination in the bad sense. The question in this case is whether there is a relevant difference between "transgender people" and other people with respect to military preparedness, military cohesion, military efficiency, and military discipline. Patrick Gannon ignores all these questions and goes for the slogan. Good work, Patrick! You're ready for a job with the Democrat Party!

Only the Fake News Media and Trump enemies want me to stop using Social Media (110 million people). Only way for me to get the truth out!

I moved this blog to TypePad on 1 August 2008, which is nine years ago today. I'm very happy with TypePad and would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend, colleague, or family member. Here, for what it's worth, is my blog history.
