Leonard Pitts was opposed to secession before he was in favor of it. I would love it if leftists would secede from this great country. Better yet, anyone who finds the United States unjust, callous, or distasteful is free to return to whatever country (or continent) he or she came from.

Major League Baseball teams play 162 games. A year ago, at the halfway point of the season, the Texas Rangers were 52-29, which is a winning percentage of 64.1. The Rangers finished 95-67 and won the West Division title by nine games over the Seattle Mariners. This year, things are different. The Rangers are 40-41, which is a winning percentage of 49.3. They're 14 games behind the Houston Astros in the all-important loss column. This is too much ground to make up, even if the Rangers' abysmal pitching staff were to come around. The Rangers have a chance to win the second wild-card spot, but that's it.Baseball

It has been my pleasure to contribute more than 50 years of combined service on several commercial boards of directors, including public and private for-profit and not-for-profit corporations, and as a captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Were President Donald Trump the chief executive of any of these organizations, and should he have tweeted the crude, sexist and vitriolic assault as he did on Mika Brzezinski last week, I can tell you exactly what would have happened: The chairman of the organization would have called a board of directors’ meeting, and Trump would have been fired on the spot.
That elected members of Congress do not “fire” Trump now says more about us than about them. Our U.S. senators and representatives work for us. We hired them and put them into office with our votes. And we should insist that they do their jobs by invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution and removing this national embarrassment from office without delay.

Note from KBJ: Good try, Michael. You lost the election, fair and square. Those of us who voted for Donald Trump are delighted finally to have a fighter (rather than a thug) in the White House. Maybe next time you'll get a candidate to your liking. In the meantime, stifle yourself.
