  • Regarding “Attempt by Dems” (Letters, Dec. 6): It’s not surprising that defenders of this 45th president scoff at the contents of the House impeachment report. Not only are they OK with President Trump having demanded dirt on a political rival in exchange for foreign aid to Ukraine, but they are also fine with his attempts to intimidate witnesses and to stonewall Congress’ right to subpoena witnesses and documents. Frankly, it’s miraculous that the legislative branch can conduct any of its oversight of the executive branch since this president does everything possible to undermine our Constitution’s long-established system of governmental checks and balances.

  • Hard to believe, but if Nancy Pelosi had put our great Trade Deal with Mexico and Canada, USMCA, up for a vote long ago, our economy would be even better. If she doesn’t move quickly, it will collapse!

  • To the editor:

A video from the recent North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit in London shows clearly what President Trump’s three years in office have meant to the world and its leaders.

The video of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Princess Anne sharing their laughter at Trump’s daily contretemps is a clear indication of the scorn held by the world’s true power-brokers for America’s most forlorn puppet on the world stage.

The only thing missing from their derision—and undoubtedly one of the topics for more private contempt—is a discussion concerning the willful ignorance of millions of Republicans who continue to support Trump, the “ugly American.”

Note from KBJ: We love President Trump, John. He's making America great again. Other world leaders are green with envy.
