Happy solstice, everyone! I'm six weeks into my summer break, with nine to go. I'm in the final stages of writing a scholarly paper on how to prevent school shootings (and other mass homicides); I'm riding my bike more than ever; I'm enjoying the baseball games that appear on television each day; and I'm doing lots of interesting and edifying reading (Kant, Bentham, and Mill, to name just three of the authors). I hope your summer is going well.

Today's Supreme Court ruling in South Dakota v. Wayfair (2018) enriches Amazon.com and its owner, Jeff Bezos. I'm not criticizing the decision and I'm not saying that the justices in the majority intended to enrich Amazon.com. I'm simply pointing out that it has that effect.

I think I know why President Donald Trump has been so critical of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Mr. Trudeau is young, handsome, charming, popular, kind, engaging, intelligent, inclusive, polite, honest, politically savvy, open to science, well respected, and has a well informed world view. At get-togethers like the G-7, other world leaders are glad to see him.
So why does Mr. Trump have such contempt for the Canadian prime minister? Because Justin Trudeau is everything that Mr. Trump is not and Mr. Trump can’t hide his jealousy.

Democrats want open Borders, where anyone can come into our Country, and stay. This is Nancy Pelosi’s dream. It won’t happen!
