As I read about the tax scofflaws being nominated by President Obama, I keep thinking of Leona Helmsley, who is reputed to have said that "only the little people pay taxes."
Addendum: I'm puzzled by Obama's nomination of people who have tax problems. Either he didn't properly investigate these people, which calls his competence into question; or he knew about the tax problems and ignored them, thinking they weren't serious, which calls his judgment into question. Is there any other explanation? And what about Obama's promise to clean up government? That's starting to look like idle talk. Tom Daschle is a crook, plain and simple. He should be in prison, not running a governmental agency.
