Keith,

[M]ay I solicit some academic advice from you? In one of my courses the professor is about to dive into her specialty . . . queer theory. How do you suggest I best approach this idiotic mode of thought without endangering my grade? If I argue against post-structuralist thought (in any of its incarnations, e.g., queer theory)—no matter how charitably—I fear that I'll still incur undue penalty for my position. You know how damn sensitive and devoid of solid thinking these people can be. Still, I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror without disgust—which, by going along with the lunacy of this crap in the name of my GPA (and perhaps Ph.D. prospects), I most certainly will.
