Here is a New York Times column about "the Pedroia effect." I love small ball. I'll take a sacrifice bunt or a hit-and-run play over a home run any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The best baseball games end with scores of 1-0, 2-1, or 3-2. My adoptive team, the Texas Rangers, plays large ball. I accept it, but I don't like it.

Addendum: Somebody explain Brady Anderson's 1996 season.
