Belgian cyclist Tom Boonen won his third Paris-Roubaix today, averaging an impossible 26.31 miles per hour on the difficult course. Several of his companions crashed near the end, leaving him alone. This image shows some of the cobblestones. Imagine riding a bike on a road like that. My picks finished as follows:
- Heinrich Haussler, 7th, 3:13 behind Boonen.
- George Hincapie, 44th, 6:32 behind Boonen.
- Martijn Maaskant, 98th, 17:46 behind Boonen.
I'm already looking forward to next year's event.
