My hometown made the New York Times.

Addendum: Evidently, many people (who? how? where? why?) think that they can contract the swine flu by eating pork. The pork industry is reeling. To protect this awful industry, which deserves to die, President Obama and other public officials are no longer referring to the swine flu as the swine flu. Even my university president is protecting the pork industry. He sent out a message by e-mail this afternoon in which he used some letters and numerals followed by "flu." Some recipients, undoubtedly, will not know what he is talking about. Is he putting the pork industry ahead of the welfare of faculty, staff, and students? Categorical imperative #1: Do not undermine the profitability of the pork industry.

Addendum 2: I'm not making light of the disease. I'm making light of the official response to the disease. Here is information about the swine flu from the CDC.
