It's heating up in North Texas. Yesterday, the official high temperature was 84º Fahrenheit. It's supposed to reach 90 today. A few minutes ago, I did my thrice-weekly run of 3.1 miles. It was 88.3º, humid, and windy. The core body temperature rises quickly under such conditions, which results in slower speeds. I actually don't mind running in the heat. If I did, I'd run early in the day, before it heats up. I have a streak of masochism in me, and always have. I love challenges. The harder the activity, the more I want to do it. Does that seem crazy to you? It seems perfectly normal to me. What would life be without challenges? I like pushing myself, testing myself, and trying to find my limits. I have always sought out tough men as friends. I want someone who is at least as tough as I am, so that he can push me to new levels. I like someone who is always ready for a challenge, someone who, if you say, "Let's do X," will do X with you. I've had friends in my life who were timid, unathletic, and uninspired. I got sick of them real fast.
