Here is a scene from today's stage of the Giro d'Italia. Russian cyclist Denis Menchov won the stage, an individual time trial over a long, hilly course along the Ligurian Sea. He averaged 23.91 miles per hour. Menchov took over the overall lead from Italian cyclist Danilo Di Luca. American cyclists Levi Leipheimer (second) and Lance Armstrong (13th) did well on the stage. Leipheimer is now third overall and Armstrong 12th. Here is tomorrow's stage. It's perfect for a long breakaway by Jens Voigt.
