Here is a history of Memorial Day, which was originally known as Decoration Day. I salute all those who have fought and died for this great country (or for the Confederate States of America).

Addendum: This morning, as I was reading Jamie Glazov's book United in Hate on my back patio, I heard a tremendous roar overhead. I looked up to see four jets in formation. They were probably from the Naval Air Station in my hometown of Fort Worth. I later saw them again, although not as closely. I assume they were part of a Memorial Day tribute somewhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. By the way, the hated New York Yankees are in town for a three-game series. They demolished my adoptive team, the Texas Rangers, 11-1, before a sellout crowd. Choke-Fraud went 5-5. Why were Ranger pitchers not instructed to throw every pitch to him on the low outside corner of the plate? If he walks five times, so be it.
