To the Editor:

Re “A Trailblazer and a Dreamer” (Woman in the News, front page, May 27):

As my surname might suggest, my paternal grandfather came from Puerto Rico, so the nomination by President Obama of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court carries emotional significance.

Judge Sotomayor’s moving tribute to her mother, who worked to send Judge Sotomayor and her brother to Catholic schools, should not be overlooked. Catholic education is a national treasure.

I expect that Judge Sotomayor will be confirmed. I hope that if cases involving abortion arise, Justice Sotomayor and the other justices will take a long hard look at the Fourth Amendment and discern that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided because it sanctions the “home invasion” of an unborn child in the womb of its mother.

Perhaps then the heartbreaking and disproportionate destruction of unborn African-American and Hispanic-American children through legalized abortion can be curtailed.

Note from KBJ: Progressives love to infer bad motivation (racism, for example) from disparate impact. Abortion has a disparate impact on blacks. Is it not, then, by progressive logic, racist (perhaps even genocidal) to support a legal right to abort?
