I just set up a Twitter account. Why? Because I want to see whether I can post to it from my TypePad blog. I believe I can, because it says, next to the box in which I'm typing this, "Let your friends know when you publish. Configure your Twitter and FriendFeed accounts on the Other Accounts page." Here is my Twitter page. There wasn't enough room for my full name, and neither periods nor hyphens are allowed, so I used "KBurgessJackson." I chose a picture of me in the classroom in 2008.

Addendum: I'm not sure what happens next. I probably need a follower. Once I get one (if I get one), I can find out whether my blog posts get through. Twitter is mysterious to me, so any help you can provide is appreciated. Please note that I have no intention of getting a cellphone. I will not be leashed!

Addendum 2: I have little interest in "following" people, i.e., keeping up with what other people are doing. I thought about adding Lance Armstrong to my list of people being followed, and perhaps I will in due course, but right now I want to use Twitter to let people know when I've posted something.
