Women's College World Series. Oklahoma City. Sunny and hot. Alabama is trying to force a second game this evening against top-ranked Florida. Bama leads, 5-2, in the bottom of the seventh. Bases loaded for the Gators. Two outs. Grand slam. The left fielder goes over the fence trying to catch the ball, landing on the other side. Florida wins, 6-5, to advance to the final series against either Georgia or Washington. Tears all around.
Addendum: The SEC is starting to dominate softball. Twenty-one of the 27 WCWS winners have come from the Pac-10. No SEC team has won the WCWS. Three of the final four teams this year are SEC teams.
