If you care about the United States of America, you must understand who is trying to destroy it, and why, and how. Please read this and pass it around. (Thanks to my Canadian friend Grant for the link.)
Addendum: Is Steyn interpreting "Live Free or Die!" correctly? He writes:
"Live free or die!" sounds like a battle cry: We'll win this thing or die trying, die an honorable death. But in fact it's something far less dramatic: It's a bald statement of the reality of our lives in the prosperous West. You can live as free men, but, if you choose not to, your society will die.
This treats the utterance as a factual statement (perhaps a prediction). I interpret it as an evaluation. The person who says "Live free or die!" is saying that he or she would rather be dead than live in tyranny. It's similar to "Better dead than red!" Indeed, it's a variant of Patrick Henry's famous utterance, "Give me liberty or give me death!" Where am I going wrong?
