The College World Series begins tomorrow at 1:00 Central Time. All games are in Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium, so no team has a home-field advantage. Eight teams will play double-elimination ball until two teams are left. The final two teams play a best-of-three series for the title, beginning on Monday, 22 June. All games are televised on ESPN or ESPN2. If you want to participate in a friendly pool, write to me. I have six participants. We need two more. The wager is $20. The winner will receive $160 (minus $20, since I don't collect until the end). I will assign the eight teams randomly to the eight participants, so each person (including me) has the same chance to get the best team. Unless I get the final two participants before I turn off the computer this evening, there will be no pool this year. Here is a bracket showing the teams and the matchups. Half the fun, to me, is filling in the bracket as the games are played.
