I've been using Windows Live OneCare as my Internet security suite for about three years. I love it. It is well worth the price of $60 per year (for up to three computers). Today, by e-mail, I learned that OneCare is being discontinued. It will be replaced by a stripped-down security suite named "Morro." The best news? Morro will be free of charge. Here is a story about it. The Symantec representative quoted in the story sounds defensive. I would be, too, if a product I were selling for a hefty price could be obtained free from some other company.
Addendum: Here is Microsoft's press release of this past November. I didn't read it until today, after I received the aforementioned e-mail message and began to look around.
