Has anyone besides me been watching the College World Series? Eight teams started. The two teams in the final (best-of-three) series are LSU and Texas. LSU won the first game in dramatic fashion, while Texas won handily yesterday. Tonight's game is for the title. It's on ESPN at 6:00 Central Time, if you're interested. About the only thing I don't like about college baseball (as opposed to professional baseball) is the use of metal bats. It doesn't sound right. When you hit a baseball, it should go "whack," not "ping." Here is a story about tonight's game. I have no dog in the fight, so I'll be watching for the sheer enjoyment of it. I might add that the New York Yankees play the Atlanta Braves on ESPN2 at the same time. My Texas Rangers play the Arizona Diamondbacks at 8:40. It's going to be a great night for baseball. I invited my friend Hawk to come watch the games with me. He said he had a date. No real man puts women ahead of baseball.
