Why is anyone surprised that the Obama administration is smearing its critics? This is Progressivism 101. You don't engage your critics, rationally; you delegitimize them. That means questioning their motives, impugning their character, lying about them, distorting their utterances, and, most juvenile of all, calling them names. Often, this is done anonymously, which proves that progressives are cowards. Even in academia, which prides itself on its rationality, open-mindedness, and civility, those of us who don't toe the progressive line are smeared. It's disgraceful.
