Happy birthday, Peg! For those who don't know, Peg Kaplan is one of my oldest blogospheric friends. Not long after I started blogging (on 5 November 2003), Peg wrote to me out of the blue to say that she enjoyed my blog. (Like me, she has a background in philosophy.) We have been friends since. Peg lives in Minnesota and enjoys mild summers. I live in Texas and enjoy mild winters. Peg plays bridge and sells real estate. I ride bikes and corrupt (I mean educate) young people. Peg lives with birds. I live with dogs (currently just one). Peg is a classic liberal. I am a conservative. Since conservatism is the attempt to keep progressives from hijacking liberal institutions, we agree on most things, but not on everything. If we agreed on everything, then one of us would be superfluous.
