Here is the final minute of today's stage of the Tour de France. The stage winner was British cyclist Mark Cavendish, who averaged 26.63 miles per hour for 123.0 miles. Cavendish is the fastest cyclist in the professional peloton. When he turns it on, nobody can stay with him. There are only two stages remaining in the 2010 Tour: an individual time trial (ITT) tomorrow and a largely ceremonial stage into Paris on Sunday. Andy Schleck trails Alberto Contador by eight seconds. Few people give Schleck much chance of taking eight seconds out of Contador in the time trial, but you never know. Few people gave Greg LeMond much chance of taking 50 seconds out of Laurent Fignon in a shorter ITT in 1989. Here is a preview of tomorrow's stage.
