Here is a New York Times story about Texas governor Rick Perry. The reporter tries to make hay of the fact that Perry, like Ronald Reagan, Jeane Kirkpatrick, and many other conservatives, was once a Democrat. This is idiocy, since political parties, like people, change. (Compare the Democrat Party of John F. Kennedy's day to that of today.) Even if Perry had once been a progressive (like me), it would mean nothing. People grow up.
