This past Tuesday, Katherine and I (click the image to enlarge it) attended another baseball game at the Ballpark in Arlington. The Texas Rangers put on a disgraceful performance. After falling behind, 3-0, they fought back to take a 7-3 lead. Almost immediately, they gave three runs back, making it 7-6. The Rangers scored again and so did the Minnesota Twins. It was 8-7, Texas, going into the ninth. You guessed it: The Rangers blew the lead and then coughed up the go-ahead run on a double by pinch-hitter Joe Mauer. Joe Nathan closed the game in the ninth to give the Twins a 9-8 victory. I would rather lose 20-6 than lose in this fashion. To add insult to injury, the game lasted 3:35, as opposed to 2:18 two days earlier.
We're now 8-8 on the year, with at least five games to go. I'm thinking the Rangers may want to pay us to stay home.
