Progressives can't stand not having control over the judiciary and are scared to death that President Trump will shape the federal judiciary for the next 30 or more years. This column is the literary equivalent of a primal scream. What's funny is that leftists think Clarence Thomas is a fringe thinker. No. He's a mainstream thinker. He believes in the rule of law, federalism, separation of powers, and judicial restraint (a.k.a. constitutionalism). He understands (1) that old mistakes (such as Roe v. Wade [1973]) are still mistakes and (2) that mistakes are to be corrected, not entrenched and celebrated.
