Trump apologists claim Santa Cruzans fail to recognize his accomplishments. Please, unlike most conservatives, offer specific details. To date, we have only witnessed legislative failures, executive orders dismantling environmental protections, and the undermining of the Affordable Care Act, placing many Americans’ lives in jeopardy. Trump’s tax plan will enrich billionaires, increase the national debt and endanger the lives of average Americans. Recent letters by his blind followers continue to divorce fact from fiction. One letter states, “In Santa Cruz it is fashionable to bash Trump.” The writer continues that Trump offered to write a check to the father of a slain soldier and lambasted progressives for not giving him credit. Turns out, of course, he never sent the check until the New York Times reported on it. Dictators are the champions of accusing journalists of spreading “fake news” and this is right out of the Putin playbook.
