Bob Upton of Marshall wants wary Americans to give up their “hate” of Donald Trump (Jan. 30 letters, “Trump Hate Overload”). “Hate” is the wrong word. “Disgust” is accurate.
Mr. Trump has much more in common with King George III than George Washington. His permanent tax breaks for the wealthy are a royal feast for himself and the financial elite; the temporary cuts for the rest of us are wishbones. Look it up.
The diminishing respect for our nation is real. Read the foreign press.
Mr. Trump’s endless lies and misrepresentations are documented facts, not rumors.
His disrespect for women, minorities, the disabled, our international allies, the “others,” are not rumors. Check the words from his own mouth.
His ignorance of governing is no fantasy. Do the simple math regarding how many people have left government service in the past year.
Mr. Upton believes Mr. Trump has done more for the middle class in one year than Barack Obama did in eight?
That’s complete fantasy.
