The rampant greed playing out in this country and elsewhere sits squarely at the feet of an unhinged president who is legislating against the many for the benefit of the few.
He has unqualified people running the Environmental Protection Agency and the departments of Energy, Education, Housing and Urban Development and Interior, and inept fire-breathing hawks playing at “diplomacy.” Many of these leaders are working to undermine the departments they oversee.
President Donald Trump’s tangled business interests are for the most part opaque and have resulted in an alarming number of potential conflicts of interest. How can we know what we cannot see? It’s nearly impossible to follow the money when it’s ensnared in a web of sidestepping legalese. The business interests of his family and the other members of the cabal he’s surrounded himself with are wreaking havoc worldwide.
His hyperbolic and bullying rhetoric tosses diplomacy out the window and signals to other like-minded tyrants that they are welcome to join him in gleefully undermining trust. This president is cruel and oppressive. He lobs smoke bombs and lies in an effort to distract, and the leaders in the Republican Party are in lockstep with him. This country is teetering on a foundation of rot.
